Movie extras....

A mate of mine emailed me yesterday to say that there's some place (known as the Titanic studios) on the outskirts of Belfast city centre doing 'auditions' for extras for a movie tomorrow afternoon between 2pm and 4pm. Apparently it's an epic feature film, set during World War 2 and the 1990s - mmmmm. I might just check it out...you never know! ;) At the minute you have to get your photo taken & give 'em your details...

[livejournal.com profile] pmgsdiary, [livejournal.com profile] mmgsdiary any tips?

Since it's for extras, I would just go there, look your best (plait your hair the night before again --grin--), and above all, be yourself.

Be confident (but not proud), and show through your smile and your attitude that you're easy to work with, take direction well, and, above all, want to serve the film and have fun.

Oh, and break a leg.

Yeah was thinking to myself I could do that - try to make myself stand out a bit more lol! ;) Cheers xxx

Well, the thing is too, that if you're going to be an extra, you have to also be able to show that you can blend in. So, yeah, stand out -- but not TOO much.

But remember, more important than your looks is how they perceive you're going to work within their system. Being an extra (well, any film making, as a matter of fact) is a lot of "hurry up and wait," and they'll (hopefully) be looking for people with patience and a servant's heart.

Divas need not apply.

Not crackin' advice, I know, but I'm thinking too much.

No honestly that's great - I'll try to bear that all in mind tomorrow. Who knows; it may be fun! :D Thanks very much mate :)

Oh, and bring a friend. It's always fun to take these adventures with a mate.

The girl who emailed me about all this was going to go but has bailed out now. I'm gonna try and persuade her...;) :p

Paul gave good advice. And confidence is essential. Even if you don't feel confident at all, if you act confident, they'll love you.
