Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

First of all...HOLY CRAP that was made of absolute awesome. *nod*



My favourite bits:

- The Dementors fighting with Harry and Dudley. The sky becoming all thundery and black was just cool! :D

- Tonks' hair turing pink and back to purple again when she tells Moody off for calling her Nymphodora. LMAO

- Harry & Sirius' hug when he arrives at Grimauld Place. ♥

- Lupin! :D

- Gary Oldman as Sirius = ♥ I can't believe it took this film to make me like him in the role. *facepalm* XD



- Harry seeing a suited Voldie in the train station.


- Suited Voldie is strangely attractive. o.O

- Harry and Cho's kiss. ♥ The entire audience all went 'aaaaaaaaaaw!' at that part. :D It was quite long too. O.O

- Luna's shoes hanging up above her and Harry.

- The Weasely twins. I love them, my 2 favourite characters after Lupin and Harry himself. I just adore their naughtiness. XD

- Harry saying "sorry professor, I must not tell lies" when Umbridge asks Harry to tell the centaurs that she meant no harm to them as they carry her off into the Forbidden Forest. HAHA! PWNED!

- The fight in the Ministry of Magic was sheer coolness O.O

- Dolores Umbridge: (in a calm, relaxed voice) "You know, I really hate children."
No shit, you don't say?! :P XD

- The spell that Ginny did which caused all the prophecy balls and shelves to come crashing down was class!! Go Ginny!

- Jason Isaacs. *drools*



- Sirius punching Lucius = WIN. ♥

- Harry being possessed by Voldemort after the showdown between him (Voldemort) and Dumbledore, and then showing all the happy memories of him, Ron & Hermione from several of the previous movies.

- Sirius Black: "When all this is over we'll be a proper family. You'll see."
*sobs* :'(

- Dumbledore vs Voldie = WIN. Loved all the pieces of glass flying towards Dumbledore & Harry.



- Dumbledore addressing Voldemort as 'Tom'. :D

- The way Sirius hugged Harry before Harry went back to Hogwarts after Christmas.

- Professor Flitwick sneakily drawing his arm in towards himself in agreement on the Weasley twins leaving Hogwarts early. XD

- The two biggest laughs from the audience were for the "emotional range of a teaspoon" (quite a few 'ooooooh!'s there too!) and "Dumbledore's got style" lines. XD

- Harry: (to Voldemort) "you'll never feel love...or friendship...and I feel sorry for you."

- Filch eating the box of chocolates and turning up in Umbridge's office covered in boils (the twins' doing).

- Hermione whooping Ron's ass in the Room of Requirement.

- Umbridge - aaaaaaaaaaarggggggh! *stab stab*

- Neville Longbottom: "Bellatrix Lestrange!"
Bellatrix Lestrange: "Neville Longbottom is it? How's Mum and Dad?"
Neville Longbottom: "Better now they're about to be avenged!"
(raises wand)

- Helena Bonham Carter was excellent as Bella. O.O



- Poor Sirius being pulled through the veil... :'(

- Random tidbit: the actress playing Luna is Irish. Her hometown? Termonfeckin. LMAO! XD Father Ted fans will get this, but even if you don't, the word 'feck' is an alternate form of saying 'f**k' over here. ;)

- Severus Snape: (seeing Harry and Sirius embrace in Grimauld Place via Harry's memories) "I may vomit."
XD

- Snape being 'interviewed' by Umbridge, answering through gritted teeth about the fact that he had been waiting for the DADA job and not getting it again ("Obviously...") and then taking it out on Ron by slapping him across the back of his head. XD

- Umbridge slapping Harry across the face, hard. :O

- Dan Radcliffe's growing up into a handsome young man, no? *feels like a cradle snatcher for saying that* :P

- Voldie in general:


- Dolores Umbridge: "Wands away. There will be no need to talk."
Hermione Granger: "No need to think is more likely."





Minor gripes:

- Isn't Dudley meant to be blonde lol??

- Mrs Figg just wasn't batty enough for me or old either.

- I was kind of hoping to see Mrs Black's shrieking portrait screaming blasphemy at Sirius and co hahah. :(

- What happened to the 2-way mirror device that Sirius was meant to give Harry before he went back to Hogwarts after the Christmas hols that he and James Potter had used?

- I found the scene of Snape being spun upside down by James Potter a wee bit too short (chapter known as Snape's Worst Memory in book 5), and where was young Lily Potter (nee Evans)?

- Why did they make it so Cho betrays whereabouts of the DA instead of her friend Marietta like it is in the book? o___O

- Not enough Tonks!!

Agreed! :) And I just got back from the movie so yay for a post I can reply to!

I agree with just about all your awesome bits. I missed the start because I'd had just a bit too much champagne and needed to duck out the the bathroom! (Better at the start than in the middle, though). I liked Sirius a LOT in this movie, while I've always been ambivilous (omg, someone correct my spelling, pls?!) about Gary Oldman in the past. Sadly, Remus did not improve :(

Things that annoyed (ie deviations from the book):
Cho the betrayer. WTF, movie people, WTF >:|
Wasn't it Kreacher more involved in Sirius' death?
Umbridge did not have a bow on her head.
The Weasley Twins' exit should have been grander :)
More Tonks, please.
Isn't this the book where Percy leaves?

And, emo Harry sucks :( I know it is canon and all, but jeez. Grow up a little. :/ This point stood out especially for me because one of the trailers was for "The Golden Compass", which is an awesome book. And how old were Lyra and Will? 13 or 14, I think. And they handled things so much better than Harry & Friends :/

It was an enjoyable movie, but like all the movies, I didn't love it. Nothing can replace the books!

Wasn't it Kreacher more involved in Sirius' death?

I think so; didn't Harry try and speak to Sirius via the fireplace thing and instead Kreacher was at Grimauld place and wouldn't tell him his godfather's whereabouts? Hmmm...so that would mean then that he (Kreacher) was responsible for making Harry & co check out the Ministry of Magic.
