- Nice opening with a hostage situation. Didn't expect Alex to be shot the way that she was though (like, when she was in mid-sentence)... O_O



- Love the 80s outfits, Alex 'waking up' to Ultravox's Vienna playing in the background and the Adam Ant poster! <3



- Nice entrance for Gene, Ray & Chris in the red Audi Quattro. :D





- Gene: (referring to Alex's very short red dress) "Blimey, if that skirt was hitched any higher I could see what you had for breakfast."

- (Alex faints infront of him)
Gene: "My reputation precedes me..." XD

- Ray and Chris checking out a sleeping Alex in the Quatro, lol.



- Gene carrying Alex into the police station when she nearly walks into the path of an on-coming police car. *g*



- Alex: "It's July 1981; it's the year my mum and dad died..."
Gene: "What of, confusion?"

- The angle from which Alex picks up her police badge lol!! And Gene quickly lifting Alex up by the arms when he realises what Ray's cracking up at. XD

- Zippy & George!! ♥ ♥ ♥

- Alex: "You're taller than I'd imagined."
Gene: "I'm bigger in every department." XD

- The tune that the Sugababes sampled on their song Freak Like Me - anyone know the original?

- Ray's "You can't give a person who gets periods that much responsiblity" line, and Shaz looking outraged lol.



- Gene: "Is this la-dee-da posh bollocks meant to impress me?" XD

- Alex putting her hand over Gene's heart, and then him (typical man) plonking his hand on her left breast! "You gonna kiss me or punch me?" I seriously thought she was going to whack him, but really she should have done the former since they were both alone. ;) *is pairing these 2 already*



- Zippy (plus hat and truncheon) & George in the police station.



- Alex: "I'd like to change out of red before Chris de Burgh writes a song about me." LMAO - I'm a big fan of CdeB so that line amused me. XD

- So Sam died but they never found the body...hmmm...

- Gene checking Alex out when she comes into Luigi's bar properly dressed in jeans, top & white jacket. :D ♥





- Drunk!Alex and drunk!Gene lol! And awww at Gene putting a blanket on her! <3333

- That clown is creepy. o__O

- The door to Gene's office opening by itself LMAO.

- "Fire up the Quattro." *g*

- Gene, Chris & Ray being the A-team lol.

- The 'A-team' arriving in the speedboat. <3 :D Their sunglasses & guns = Terminator style:



- Gene & Alex arguing (loudly) with their guns still in their hands and Ray & Chris watching. <3 *flails*



- The newspaper cutting of Sam on the wall in Gene's office. <3



- Gene pouring Alex a glass of wine at the bar, then returning to his own table at the back. <3

In short, I liked it, even though I never watched Life On Mars...maybe I should? ;) And Alex deliberately winding Gene up was hilarious.

I really enjoyed it, too, though I had to explain a few points to the parents as they'd never seen any Life on Mars - I've seen a few but not all of them. So many quotable lines, and I do love the Gene Genie :)

Definitely should! I can't believe they (at least temporarily) kill off Sam. ;__; Ashes to Ashes. *Is jealous because BBCAmerica shows everything a year late and at $60 dollars and month*.

Hee hee I loved Rainbow when it was on; used to watch it maybe in the late 80s/very early 90s. Zippy was and still is my favourite! :D

I would say watch Life on Mars - it is great although unlike Ashes to Ahes I cannot remember anything of the period. At least in AtA time I was 6 and do have some memories - if not huge numbers.

However I loved the first series of LoM, and loved what I saw of the second series - it just was shown at a busy point in my life and I missed a lot of it. Am now angling to get the DVDs for my birthday :D
