Okay, as promised my 'review' of The Dark Knight:

I went into this movie thinking it could be good but still be hyped up and therefore lose some of its 'charm'. Hoping that this wouldn't be the case since I'd caught loads of (brilliant) trailers for it on tv, I went ahead with a friend on Tuesday afternoon to one of the cinemas in town, quite excited all the same, also keeping in mind that this would be the last time I'd see Heath Ledger on the silver screen. When we got in, there were loads of kids (and quite a big queue), though thankfully they were seeing WALL-E and when we went into the screening room, there must have been about a dozen other people. With 5 mins to go, the room was almost completely filled but seeing a film like TDK with a full house was fab. :D Anyhoo, fave/memorable parts/highlights:
- Loved the opening bank robbery, each gang member ganging up against each other and the school bus crashing through the wall with the Joker posing as one of the gang when he was the mastermind behind it. And of course when I saw the bank manager, my brain went OH HAI AGENT MAHONE. XD :P Loved him casually walking towards the guys blasting away with the shotgun.
- The Batman wannabes LMFAO. XD And lol @ seeing Cillian Murphy among them.
- Alfred Pennyworth: (looking at a large bite on Bruce's arm) "Were you mauled by a tiger?"
Bruce Wayne: "It was a dog..."
Alfred Pennyworth: "Huh?"
Bruce Wayne: "It was a big dog!"
- Random Harvey Dent/Aaron Eckhart cap:

- "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." Oh Harvey... :(

- Random pretty of Maggie/Rachel:

- Random Christian/Bruce cap:

- The Joker's main entrance, walking into the gang meeting going "Ahah hahahahah hahahah. And I thought my jokes were bad." The longer the hahah-ing went on, the funnier it got.
- The Joker forcing some guys from another gang to join him - that pencil 'magic' trick...ouch! O_O
- "Here's my card." XD

- "Why so serious?"

- Batman taking Lau out of Hong Kong with him by holding onto a customized cable attached to a plane was hilarious! Not how I'd want to leave a city/country though... :P
- When Dent and the mayor were in the mayor's office, I thought something was going to hit the window; the angle of the mayor standing at it kind of set that up. ;) Loads of people jumped though when the body was slammed against it lol. The video of said deceased being taunted by the Joker was chilling.
- Random Christian/Bruce cap #2:

- The woman judge getting blown up in her own car...never saw that coming. I thought when she opened the envelope with the word 'UP' on it that something heavy would fall from above and therefore crush the car instead. As for the smoking bottle of alcohol...O___O
- The Joker & co crashing the party.
Joker: (to Rachel after she kicks him) "A little fight in you. I like that."

Batman: (suddenly appearing) "Then you're going to love me." *punch*

- Glad it wasn't just me who found it quite hard to hear what Batman was saying some of the time. ;)
- Reese (the accountant) trying to blackmail Lucius Fox and being promptly pwned: "Let me get this straight. You think that your client, one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world is a secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands, and your plan is to blackmail this person? Good luck."
I love how Morgan Freeman delivered this, the whole audience was in stitches. XD
- The scene with Dent saying that he was Batman made me think that it was going to be like 'I'm Spartacus' in Spartacus but obviously with everyone going 'I'm Batman!' LOL.
- The funeral procession scene was awesome as was seeing the Joker in the police uniform, his scars without all that makeup for a brief moment:

- I honestly thought Jim Gordon was dead and was pissed since the film carried on a bit before he popped up again, making me think the character had gone for good. I secretly let out a little 'YAY!:D' when he reappeared (can't say I blame Mrs Gordon for slapping him when he turned up at his home alive and well) lol.
- I must say, Maggie Gyllenhaal is a very lucky lady, having been able to kiss both Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart - yes I'm beginning to majorly crush on Aaron too (thanks to
ohnotheydidnt posting pics like this). :P He's preeeeeeeeetty. XD ♥
- Maroni shattering his legs/ankles/feet after being dropped from the balcony by Batman - O.M.G...I think the whole audience winced... :/
- Random Harvey/Rachel scene, just before Harvey gets escorted off in the police van:

- The chase scene with Dent and the police escort was brilliant, I couldn't look away from the screen. I adored the Joker's manical laughter and him taunting Batman to run him over with the Batpod (although when it was going very fast towards a wall and was able to simply roll off it and go towards the opposite direction made me go 'oh as if!' lol), speaking of which...

- The lorry that the Joker was driving being tipped over was amazing too:

- as was the Joker taunting Batman to run him over:

- Random Gary/Jim Gordon cap:

- The Joker being carted off to the local police station:

- Jim being promoted to Commissioner and the Joker offering his 'congratulations' by sarcastic clapping:

- Batman iterrogating the Joker was fantastic, they were questioning each other! Heath was brilliant in this scene I thought, so deranged and sadistic, like he actually enjoyed Batman beating the crap out of him.
- The Joker: (just after having his head slammed on the table infront of him) "Never start with the head, the victim gets all fuzzy!"
- It was really sly how the Joker lied about the locations of Rachel and Harvey and deliberately sending Batman to save Dent when he knew Rachel was the one whom he was after.
- Poor Rachel. :(
- Liked how Dent's lucky coin also changed appearance/character like Harvey himself, with 1 side becoming tarnished. Talking of Harvey's new appearance, the makeup was scary. O__O Poor Harvey.

- Emo!Bruce... :(

- Batman: "Sometimes, truth isn't good enough, sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded."
- Poor Bruce thinking that Rachel was going to be with him/choose him, and Alfred knowing she was intending on marrying Harvey and burning her letter so Bruce wouldn't be even more devastated. :'(
- Former Bratpack-er Anthony Michael Hall as a tv newsreader! :D
- Loved the scene in the hospital where Jim apologises for what happened to Harvey, Harvey forcing him to speak the 'Two-Face' nickname he was given when he worked in Internal Affairs ("SAY IT!!") and then screaming in frustration/pain/anger when he lifts the lucky coin since Rachel had it last (with only music played in that last part). :(
- The Joker in nurse's uniform was freaking hilarious! I think the whole room nearly wet themselves when he sits down beside an injured Harvey and does an awkward "HAAAAAAAAAAI..." ROFL!!! Then seeing him cleaning his hands with the sanitizer like nothing happened!! ♥ ♥ ♥ Also, him walking away from Gotham General Hospital causing only a few minor explosions, then pressing the detonator over & over, wondering why there aren't more, and then the whole place goes up in a giant fireball - WIN. I loved all those funny wee moments with his character like that and Heath did that brilliantly. *nods*
- Bruce Wayne: (after swerving his Lambourghini into the path of a van to prevent a sabotage on the police) "Do you think I should go to the hospital?"
Lt. James Gordon: "You don't watch the news very much do you?"
- Random Gary/Jim Gordon screencap #2:

- I was literally on the edge of my seat during the scene where the 2 ferries were trying to decide who should get blown up; I was definitely not expecting the big prisoner on that ferry to throw their detonator out the window...And omg the guy on the civilian ferry stood with that thing in his hands for aaaaaaages and I was whispering OMGDUDEDONTDOIT!! *FLAIL* I got chills at that part because it seemed to go on forever!
- Batman: "What did you do?"
The Joker: "I took Gotham's white knight, and brought him down to our level. It wasn't hard. Y'see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little...push." (laughs)
- The Joker: (hanging upside down) "You just couldn't let me go could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible aren't you? You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness, and I won't kill you, because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever."
Batman: "You'll be in a padded cell forever."
The Joker: "Maybe we can share one. They'll be doubling up, the rate this city's inhabitants are losing their minds."
- Dent really did become frickin' psychotic didn't he? Jim's poor kids were probably traumatized for life... :(
- Batman/Bruce turning Harvey's head so his 'good' side of his face is showing after the fall. ♥ Is he really dead though because him and Batman both fell the same distance and the latter got up and walked away, and they never specifically confirmed he had died. Hmmmmmm.
- Batman choosing to take the rap for all the wrong doings that Harvey/Two-Face did and becoming an outlaw because of it. :(
Well, I LOVED it. Absolutely brilliant. Didn't look at my watch once. The music was absolutely superb. Heath was amazing, I knew it was him, but I couldn't 'see' him if you get my meaning. He completely disappeared into that character, changing his whole posture, voice (how creepy was his laugh?!), everything and I for one think he should at least get an Oscar nomination. Also thought Christian, Maggie, Aaron, Gary and Michael Caine were great too, but really this was Heath's film, let's be honest. ;) It was great to hear clapping (myself included of course) as the movie ended, and as Heath's name came up on the credits. ♥ And, lovely to see the dedication to him and another crew member too.
I really want to see it again!
10/10 - this'll be one I'm definitely getting on DVD. ;) AMAZING.
