It's that time of year again

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Work in an office? :P Lame I know but it's all I can think of lol.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
To eat less chocolate/exercise more but I say that every year but I really am gonna try this year coming - I need to lose a bit round the middle. XD
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yup, my eldest cousin's wife, second child, a second little girl. Also my cousin on my dad's side (Dad's sister's middle daughter) had a wee boy. :)
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not this year thankfully.
5. What countries did you visit?
Italy. :D
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A significant other...pretty please??? I'm seriously fed up of hearing that more people I know who are my age (or younger) are getting engaged. -_-
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Friday 20th June - getting to see The Police play in concert about 10 mins up the road from my house. And OH HAI STING. :D ;)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting a job that I'm finally happy with (even if it may only be temporary). :D :D :D
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not passing my course, I got fed up with it to be honest. :/
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Thankfully none.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I have no idea lol.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My college buddies who've kept me amused for hours on end, people at work and of course everyone on my f-list. *hugs*
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My brother's (depressing, same old shit every day), that of terrorists trying to kill everyone...etc.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Bus rides to tech, work and on DVDs!!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The Police concert in June and finally getting out of Tescos at the beginning of August. \\o//
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Quite a few: 'Mercy' (Duffy), 'Womanizer' (Britney Spears), 'I Kissed A Girl' (Katy Perry) and 'Bleeding Love' (Leona Lewis).
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? I think I'm a bit happier actually. :D
ii. thinner or fatter? I honestly don't know, but I reckon it's the latter! :P
iii. richer or poorer? A little bit richer :) Work = money!!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Studying.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Time wasting. ;)
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With family.
22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
Nope. :(
23. How many one-night stands?
None; I'm not that kind of person, I actually do have a conscience and self-respect.
24. What was your favourite TV program?
The usual: Doctor Who, Desperate Housewives, Top Gear, The F-Word, Torchwood, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, Primeval, Heroes, Supernatural, Moonlight, Ugly Betty, NYPD Blue.
Plus: Ashes To Ashes, Life On Mars (UK version), Law & Order: SVU.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't like to say it, but probably my brother that little bit more since he irritates the hell out of me all the time, but when he's being nice, that'll probably change. He does it every year without fail.
26. What was the best book you read?
John Barrowman's autobiography - made me laugh so much. XD
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
80s German pop/synth group Alphaville, John Parr and Scorpions.
28. What did you want and get?
To see Sting/The Police play in concert; good thing I went because I very nearly didn't!!
29. What did you want and not get?
Love/bf.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
The Dark Knight by an absolute landslide, Taken was fabulous as well. DVD-wise, V For Vendetta was pretty much made of win. ♥
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 22 and didn't actually do anything lol.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Hmmmm, losing a lot of weight & getting a boyfriend? ;) :P
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Very casual at the start of the year but since I changed jobs, I've had to make the effort a wee bit more LMAO. :P
34. What kept you sane?
Everyone on my f-list. :D And my family, college/tech pals and co-workers. Thank you!! *smooshes*

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Hmmmm the presidential election, what else? :P Didn't really tune in until after Hillary Clinton backed out though.

College pals from last year.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
The guys at college, new (slightly crazy) co-workers and my cousin's new baby girl and her 1 year old sis and my other cousin's little boy. :D ♥

Learn to say 'no' now and then. ;)

I used to feel this way too - believe me...it ain't the end of the world. Being significant-other-less really isn't THAT bad. That's what 2008 has taught me. :D
