Alex: (long pause) "Of course I'm glad to be back."
Therapist: "But the real world scares you?"
Alex: "Because it's not as real as the one I left."

- Alex: "What if Sam and I both had a purpose there?"

- Tbh, seeing Alex in the real world is just weird after 2 full seasons of 80s-ness. :/

- Things must be bad if Ray's begging Alex to come back...

- Gene: "Ray if you come in here again dressed like a Maths teacher, I will paint your balls the colour of hazelnuts and inform a bag of squirrels that winter's coming."
(Slams office door shut)

Alex: "Even though he made you part of all this?"

- Love this, Gene storming back into his office and the door swinging back to show Keats suddenly scowling:

- Keats: "I hate you. I can't help it. I hate what you stand for, the, the...my mouth's dry."
Gene: (walking over to cabinet and handing him a glass) "Maybe you prefer water."
Keats: "No thank you. The laziness, the brutality, the hypocrisy and as for the team...some of them could've made good coppers but you, eroded them too much."
(He downs the glass and walks over to the glass and smiles at Chris. He jokingly points at him and makes a shooting motion which Chris copies.)

"Idiots. Third raters, slackers. They'll still be getting pissed while I dismantle this station around them."
Gene: "And you think you're up to that do you Jim?"
Keats: "It's not about them, not really. (pulling the blind down behind the door) It's about you, Hunt. About what you've done in the past."
(In the store room, Alex discovers Sam Tyler's file in Gene's filing cabinet)
"Maybe Alex Drake was an accident, maybe. She thinks it was. But you do have a nasty temper my friend and not everyone's walked away from that."
Gene: "And a good dart-throwing arm. Don't forget my 180."
Keats: You think you're so clever, so special, so needed, so damned right. You've fooled everyone into believing in you but I have the horrible, unpopular job of showing the world what you really are. The things you've done. Oh they won't want to believe it because they love you and they think that they know you and they'll hate me for that but in the end they will see. As sad as that will be for them, they will see. I know what you did three years ago. I know..."
Gene: "So you're gonna bring me down. Why tell me that?"
Keats: (grinning) "You see that's what's ironic. You can't leave here no matter what happens. This place defines you which means you're gonna have to sit there and watch me close your little kingdom forever. And you on the scrap heap. I just hope I can help Alex before it's too late."

- Wooooooow, Keat's attitude did a complete 360 degree turn as soon as that door closed! :O I do not like that man - he had me completely fooled. :( Definitely one to watch out for.

- No wonder Gene wants that cabinet back...

- Keats mentioning Gene can't leave the station/office; what was that all about or is it that Keats can keep an eye on him? Or is phantom!cop a younger Gene Hunt and the station is his purgatory and that would be why he can't leave?. D: D: D: (I really hope this phantom!cop is someone we haven't met yet.)

- LOVE the usage here of The Police's Every Breath You Take ---> never thought I'd hear a Police song in A2A! :D ♥ Gene watching Jim / Jim keeping an eye on Alex and Gene / Alex looking out for the team (and herself?).
