Slight annoyance at work tonight...

Dearest customer,

it is 7.30pm. Our store closed at 7pm. Our opening and closing hours are clearly stated at the entrance. No you can't come in, even "just to buy a loaf"; the door is open only because my co-workers have to bring the waste in through the front before we leave for the night (this is because people have set fire to our cardboard waste in the past so this needs to be brought in every night), all the tills have been turned off for the day and the shutter at the customer service desk is down. We have homes to go to as well.

Seriously, this kind of thing happens nearly every Saturday night, people trying to come in after closing and seem to think we can switch everything on again just to suit them. >_< I'm so glad I'm finishing working in retail in a few weeks.

We had customers trying to get in when we were flooded a couple of months ago. If they see an open door or staff working and lights on they seem to think they've got a right to be let inside!

Even when the fire alarm's been going off and the entire staff have been outside they try to slip past us and get in - why do they think we're all outside the building?!

I feel ya. At my old job, we couldn't even tell people we were closing because heaven forbid that $1,000 sale would come five minutes before closing. Luckily, we were able to lock the doors AT closing. Also luckily, we had no one put the cardboard bin on fire out back. That would have been a BIG mess!

At this job, I don't have to deal with the closing crew, but I deal with the opening crew and the BLOODY morning people. I do not like mornings.

Big Hugs and I am sure you will get a nice paying job and not have to work in retail. I can't get myself jobs other than retail, but luckily most customers are nice.
