Sharpe's Challenge

It's good to have Sharpe back again, & Harper too :) Have missed those 2 so good to have them back in action on telly but OMG! What a cliffhanger to end part one! Meep! Sharpe being forced to shoot Harper to prove his loyalty to the Indian Emperor and having it end with Richard aiming at Pat with Pat going through his hail Marys.... O_______o *panics*


They'd better not kill Harper off, or they'll hear about it from me!! But on the other hand I don't think they'd kill him off like that....We'll see tomorrow night....


Oh and yeah....William Dodd; wasn't he in the first of the Sharpe books like Triumph & Fortress??? *wracks brain* I recognise the character name....




And on a random note, 6-week old black yorkshire terrier puppies are the cutest thing ever, especially when rolling over onto their backs or when chasing your feet LMAO. Not so good when they start chewing on yer fingers and bite down a wee bit too hard *looks at right thumb* Wee bit of a cut but since they're so cute, all is forgiven. Besides it doesn't even hurt! ;)

Dodd (and some possible spoilerage!)

You're right, Dodd was in Triumph and Fortress. As I understand it, what they've done with Sharpe's Challenge is take the first three books, Tiger, Triumph and Fortress, and merge them, putting the bulk of the action in 1817. The opening part, at Chasalgaon in 1803, was directly from Triumph.

Sharpe and Harper playing deserters was adapted from Tiger, where the 'deserters' were Lt. Lawford and Pte. Sharpe. Looks like Sgt Bickerstaff is the Hakeswill-type bad sergeant.

Can't wait for the next bit. I don't think Sharpe wil have to shoot Harper - they've only just deserted, they're untried by Dodd & Co. and the Rajah guy is sitting within range of a gun. It'd be so easy for Sharpe to turn and shoot Dodd or the Rajah, so was the powder they were given proper gunpowder?

I'm glad we don't have to wait a whole week to find out, the second part's shown tonight! Yay!

Ah haaaaa.... I was partially right then :) I also thought that I'd come across the horrendous death of having a nail driven through your skull before too! *shudders* What a way to go eh? When they did that to Cpt Lawrence (was that his name?) I actually had to look away but seems that they did't show anything....
