That is all. :( Great guy, can't believe it. It's ironic in a (sad) way though since he once said, "If something ever happens to me, people are gonna be like 'we knew a croc would get him!'" and yet it was one of the more docile animals that killed him....
I caught them saying on This Morning earlier about some freak accident involving a stingray and wondered who they were talking about. When I saw the news at noon, my jaw just fell open - I didn't expect it to be him.
RIP Steve ♥

I feel sorry for Terri having to explain to the kids that their dad won't be coming home. :( But at least he died doing what he loved and what he did best. The autopsy says that the sting caused him to go into cardiac arrest since it pierced the left side of his heart.
R.I.P Steve!

Date: 2006-09-04 06:15 pm (UTC)Yeah that's the irony; he could have been killed so easily by something like a croc and it was a small stingray instead....I would watch repeats of his programme The Crocodile Hunter Diaries and marvel at how he was able to get so close to those things & always walk away unharmed, but I think that was what made him different to others in his profession.
